For most of my career I sat on the review side of the table. Public accounting, deal advisory, internal audit inside a Fortune 500 company, and later a seat as a CFO in a growing consumer business. I have seen what happens when the books are clean and someone asks a hard question, and I have seen what happens when they are not. The difference is rarely intelligence or effort. It is usually whether somebody was paying careful attention early enough.
Servant Leader Tax Group grew out of that. The owners and directors I meet are not behind because they are careless. They are behind because they are carrying something: a business, a nonprofit, a program, a payroll, a family. Accounting is the piece that waits until it cannot wait anymore. You will not get a lecture about that here. You will get a plan, a fixed price, and someone who does the work.
The name is the standard I hold myself to. Serving well means excellence in the work itself, and that shows up in details most clients never see: clean support behind every number, documented positions, and deliverables that hold up when a lender, a grantor, or a school district asks for them. It also means putting the person ahead of the transaction. I want to know what you are building and who depends on it, because that is what the numbers are actually for.
I am a licensed CPA based in Houston, and I work with clients across the country. If you are somewhere between overwhelmed and behind, that is a normal place to start a conversation, and it does not change how I will respond to you.
